RAID Nitrox (Deco 40) Speciality Course with DIVE Northampton

This programme qualifies divers, with standard SCUBA equipment to dive to 40 metres and complete dives with mandatory decompression stop requirements for up to a maximum of 10 minutes, whilst breathing Air or Nitrox. This is a viable alternative to the more traditional Technical route and is ideal for those divers that want to extend their dive time and explore the possibilities of limited decompression diving without investing in Technical equipment and courses.

PREREQUISITES
To be a minimum of 16 years old.
To be certified diver for at least 3 months.
Certified RAID Open Circuit Level 2 diver or equivalent certifications such as PADI Advanced Open Water Diver with training in Navigation and Night/Restricted Visibility diving such as is found in UK waters. The instructor is to evaluate these skills.
20 logged hours underwater using SCUBA
Documented proof of these prerequisite requirements need to be presented to the Dive Centre for approval prior to any in water training.

EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS
For this course you will be required to use the following which are provided if necessary within your course fees:
Single cylinder (minimum 12 Lit 230 Bar)
Full Regulator Set to include First Stage, Second Stage, Octopus, SPG, LPI Hose and Dry Suit hose (interchangeable with the BCD) if being used.
Single/multi gas Nitrox dive computer
Backup dive timer or enriched air (Nitrox gases) computer.
Slate
SMB and Reel
Knife or Cutters
Mask
Torch
BCD / Wing with adequate lift capacity
Exposure suit - almost always a Dry Suit

COURSE CONTENT
You must complete, before the in-water training, the on-line academic presentations, quizzes, exam. This material can be printed out and used in a traditional way if preferred. The cost for this element is approximately £38 and covers the cost of certification. We will also spend any time necessary going over the theory here at the Dive Centre if there are any areas that you want to review.

There will then be a pool-based Review of your Diving skills to brush-up on anything that is a little rusty. This will include a Stamina and Watermanship skills review and Dive Planning Assignments.

Finally you will complete the course based Practical skills (such as cylinder analysis), pool and open water sessions, totalling a minimum of 4 hours underwater. This will normally take the form of 1 pool session and at least 2 open water sessions.
